Communities coming together

Communities coming together

Christmas is always one of our favorite times of year, but for many who have lost someone, it can be a time that triggers sadness and stress. You reflect on the year that is almost over, you miss those who have passed and cannot join your holiday table, and you treasurer memories you hold dear. Many families in our community {and those surrounding} have been dealt a crummy hand over the last year and have lost siblings, parents, children and friends, so this Christmas will look a little less bright to them than it normally does.

The most recent loss hit a young family in our community just a week ago when their 12 year old son passed from a reaction caused by a peanut allergy. Many people were affected by the loss of this kind young man. What we love most about living in a small town is the support and love we share to even those we don't know. Christmas is about blessing others and sharing the spirit of Jesus in a time of struggle and strife. That is just what we are doing, and watching the communities rally together behind this family is truly remarkable. God is making moves right before us!

We have collaborated with a local screen printing company {Bow Wow Graphics} and have together launched a t-shirt and decal sale to support the family. ALL PROCEEDS from both sales will go right back into the hands of this family to help with anything they need! Although we know that money will never bring back their sweet son, we hope that it blesses them this Christmas and reminds them that they are surrounded by family, friends, and strangers who love them, and will be praying for them as they recover from this terrible shock.

Please, if you are local or far away, consider supporting this mission of ours to raise food allergy awareness and help give back to the family in an incredible way this Christmas!
